Editorial Review: The Adapt-a-Lap is a patented, portable book holder lap desk . What's different about it is that it is of value to everyone, even the elderly and people with arthritis, stroke, carpel etc. Whether reclining in your favorite chair, lying in bed snuggled up with your favorite book, at a desk or sitting at a table, the Adapt-a-Lap relieves the stress of arched arms, shoulders, and necks as well as fatigued hands. The Adapt-a-Laps extendable leg allows for the exact height and angle best for you. It also allows you to use your portable computer without the need to have a desk or table (or knees) to support it on. Its small enough to fit in most computer bags so its easy to take your office anywhere. From the heaviest hardbacks to your portable computer, the Adapt-a-Lap holds them all..

Exceeded my expectations, 2008-03-26
I'm usually prepared to be somewhat disappointed with items purchased sight-unseen, but I am completely satisfied with this product. I have degenerating disks in my neck, and was looking for a bookstand that I could use while nestled in an upholstered chair without a table in front. Not only does this accomplish what I need perfectly, it is also compact, lightweight, and very quick and easy to set up and collapse. The pole stays exactly where you place it. I need to read without lowering my head at all, so I put a pillow on my lap and this raises the book to eye level with my neck straight. I haven't seen anything else that can do this. Highly recommended.

It works!, 2008-02-18
It takes a litte getting use to but it works as it should very comfortably. Its also very easy to transport and you quickly become dependant on it so you don't loose your place in a book just because you step away for a sec.

Fantastic!, 2008-01-20
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. Although the bookholder was far from the most expensive gift he received, it has grown to be his favorite. He tells everyone how much he enjoys it.

An Item That Works, 2006-05-20
Purchased one for the wife who has trouble holding books while reading. It works so well we purchased another for my use.
This item does what it is supposed to do. Makes holding books, etc.comfortable while either setting in a chair or reclining in bed.
The Adapt-A-Lap is well made and designed to do the job. A real credit to the inventor and distributer.
